ZeptoMail Validation

Use this runbook before enabling or changing transactional email.

Checklist

  1. Confirm sender domain and sender address are verified in the provider.
  2. Confirm SMTP host, port, username, password, TLS mode, and sender values are present in the secret manager or protected runtime environment.
  3. Restart only the dependent service when possible.
  4. Check startup logs for connection, TLS, or authentication errors.
  5. Send a test invite or password reset to a controlled mailbox.
  6. Record the validation date without recording secret values.

Common Failures

  • ECONNREFUSED: wrong host/port or network egress issue.
  • Authentication failure: wrong username/password or provider-side credential invalid.
  • Sender rejected: sender address or domain is not verified.
