ZeptoMail Validation
Use this runbook before enabling or changing transactional email.
Checklist
- Confirm sender domain and sender address are verified in the provider.
- Confirm SMTP host, port, username, password, TLS mode, and sender values are present in the secret manager or protected runtime environment.
- Restart only the dependent service when possible.
- Check startup logs for connection, TLS, or authentication errors.
- Send a test invite or password reset to a controlled mailbox.
- Record the validation date without recording secret values.
Common Failures
ECONNREFUSED: wrong host/port or network egress issue.- Authentication failure: wrong username/password or provider-side credential invalid.
- Sender rejected: sender address or domain is not verified.
