WSO2 API Manager is part of the internal API management stack.

Responsibilities​

  • Publisher and developer portal for managed APIs.
  • Gateway routing for selected backend services.
  • MySQL-backed persistence for API Manager state.

Operational Notes​

  • Treat default credentials as bootstrap-only and rotate where possible.
  • Keep API Manager database secrets in protected runtime environments.
  • Validate backend reachability from the WSO2 container before publishing APIs.
  • Avoid exposing admin consoles without access controls.
